slow through eden with Ahimsa Artists (in production) Together with Ahimsa Artists, Slow Through Eden is a documentary of Ahimsa Artists's original play "slow through eden" for our Living Room Tour. In order to eradicate the pressures many artists face with bureaucracy, paperwork and red tape, we have created an original play to be performed by artists and for artists within the actual apartments and living rooms of anyone willing to house such a production. We took the performance all across Southern California, from LA to Dana Point, Manhatten Beach to Riverside. It is was an ambitious project, and the documentary is designed to capture the process. At this point, it's really interesting because this project has been in the works for quite some time. It's still in post-production, final editing process, and sound mixing. In any case, I strongly believe that the process was amazing in that it showed the difficulties of young artists finding a voice and a message. It was about coming together and trying to share their work with the community, despite any hardship. It really is a positive reaction to negativity, and I really believe this story needs to be shared now in a generation of apathy and cynicism. My intent with the documentary changed over time, and when I finished it, my intent was to show the relationships that developed within the cast and with the community too. Shot primarily with a Panasonic AG-DVX100b. Additional footage on a Canon XH-A1. |
